Luma Lofts And Condos 1100 Hope Los Angeles, CA 90015

Luma Lofts And Condos

180 degrees from conventional. Luma is nineteen stories of innovation and intelligence, standing in the face of the status quo and leaving other residences with a sense of the ordinary. It’s entirely new, and exactly like nothing else.
Luma is new construction, from the ground up. It’s not readopted or rebuilt. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. The thinking, design and construction that form Luma are all very much ahead of their time.
Inside and out, Luma is anything but conventional. Her architecture blends angles, height, and sheer lines, creating a building that is as much on lines, creating a building that is much on aesthetic, statement as it is a place to live. The tall, slender exterior is wrapped in glass, flooding the living spaces with light and views of the surrounding city. Inside, sophisticated and exceptionally liveable designs bring fresh meaning to the idea of the urban loft. And, underneath all of this lies a revolutionary and responsible sustainable-construction approach that creates a building as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.

South is a new urban neighborhood being formed by Luma, Elleven, Evo and several upcoming South residences at and around 11th and Grand, in the exciting South Park neighborhood.
South is a neighborhood within a neighborhood. It is  a vibrant place, full of life and energy and style. A place where people know each other a little better. Where there’s more to do and see.  Where you can walk, meet, shop and be.
It’s a place that puts you within steps of some of the world’s greatest cultural centers, sports venues, business districts, arts, shopping, entertainment and dining. It’s also a place that acts as a retreat, with the shared plaza between Luma and Elleven offering green spaces, gathering areas and a pool deck.  Whether it’s a park bench and book or a day full of boutiques, it’s just outside your door.
South is a place to live and a way to live, and Luma will put you right in the middle of it.
CONCRETE WITH A CONSCIENCE.
Luma is the second green residential building in downtown Los Angeles (right behind her sister building, Elleven) and is pursuing LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.  What does that mean, you ask?
Well, LEED certification is the nationally-recognized standard for sustainable and environmentally focused construction. For a building to be LEED certified it must be designed and built to strict standards set forth by the U.S. Green Building Council. The goal is to create a building that uses less energy, fewer natural resources, and is environmentally responsible — locally and globally.
As a building pursuing LEED certification, Luma is being created to these standards, using sustainable materials, efficient construction techniques, and a thoughtful, eco-friendly approach.
Sustainable materials are things that look and function as well as, or better than, conventional materials, but have less impact on the world around us. Things like recycled-content materials, low-emitting points and finishes, energy-efficient lighting and dual-flush toilets that conserve water.
Green construction techniques include everything from transporting materials to the construction site more efficiently to putting throught toward how we can integrate the building into its neighbood with minimal impact. Or using tall windows that let light flor in, which saves on lighting energy. Or using treated glass and sunshades, which save on cooling energy.
All of this is a price-competitive with conventional building techniques. So it doesn’t cost you any more. It just requires a bit more effort and thinking on our part.
So why do we do it?
Because it’s the right thing to do. because we all live on this planet. Because, all things being equal, why wouldn’t you choose green?
